My name is Dieter Baumgartner and I am a experimental microbiologist with a mechanical engineering background. I combine my love of science with my engineering skills to build custom experimental setups to answer new and old questions.
I have a doctorate from ETH Zürich where I studied bacterial physiology from a single cell biomass perspective. Our new approach gives unprecedented access to single cell bacterial biomass using digital holography.
